Easter

Happy Easter!

OK, OK, I know I'm very behind.  So I've at least uploaded everything, I'll make this a quick one, and maybe there is a chance that I'll get some posts out this week.  We had a wonderful time with lots of family visiting (separate post) and my parents have been in town helping out, since Robby's daycare was closed on Good Friday, and we're going crazy prepping the house for sale.

Robby really was angelic today.  He woke up, found his basket, and ate WAY too much candy.

My mother spent the morning hemming the pants on an Easter outfit she had found for Robby.  I feel like a bit of a failure, as so many things just aren't on my radar right now.  I'm hoping that one of these days I start to feel a bit more accustomed to the routine.

At church, he got very nervous, and cuddled for a good 1/2 of the service before he ever needed books, food, or walks outside.  I count that as a win.

After church, we headed straight to brunch, which was delicious, and he ate his own omelet.  The rest of us over-indulged, as well.

Robby did a surprisingly good job with the Easter bunny, happily getting a piece of chocolate, and giving a high five.  No freak outs.  Of course, we didn't attempt a better picture than this:

We got home, Robby actually napped, my husband and father seemed to do a bit better with their respective illnesses, and we got a few crazy chores (like cleaning out the attic) crossed off the list.

Successful day!  See Robby's newest truck from his grandparents below.  He's fairly obsessed and is walking around mumbling "logging truck" pretty much 24/7 at the moment.

And one last moment of cutest before I run.  I'll be back!  I promise!

Easter, a week late

No babies were eating candy.  It's a ploy to get junk for Chris and myself.

I knew I had to give you the Easter preview since it would take me forever to get the photos uploaded.  And, I was right.  Easter was both great and not-so-great.  My parents, brother, and sister-in-law all came to our house.  However, my brother and sister-in-law did not make it til Easter.  Why you ask?  A stomach virus.  Which I now have today.  It isn't as bad as the flu I had a couple months ago, but...I'm still hoping the rest of my house will avoid it.

The only other comment I have is that brunch was fantastic and Robby was a PIG.  He had his own omelet with tomato, ham, and asparagus.  1/2 a piece of French toast.  Roasted broccoli and peppers.  Pasta salad.  Fruit salad.  He would NOT stop eating.  A woman was cracking up because I was in line with him (after the omelet and french toast, mind you) and he kept screaming for food.  I handed him a piece of broccoli.  She laughed and said, "It's great to see a broccoli eater."  He was generally good.  Just hungry.  ;)

Ready or not, here comes Easter!

Robby met the Easter Bunny for the first time at daycare...and it didn't necessarily go well.  He was a little intimidated by the creepy, giant bunny suit.

As for us?  We're having a bunch of company this weekend.  My parents, brother, and his wife are all in town. It'll be fun, but a full house!  Robby was up screaming last night and tugging at his ear, too, so we are going back to the doctor to see if the ear infection is back on.  Sigh.  I was hoping we could make it to the tube appointment, but that's not for another 2 weeks.

Short on time, and we've been CRAZY busy, so I'll just say...Happy day before Easter!

Happy Easter...a little late

Easter was largely uneventful, other than the whole resurrection thing... ;)  However, I did at least manage to pull off two pictures.  The day started surprisingly late as the animals let us sleep til 7.  Man, talk about lazy!  We still ended up worried about making it to church on time, because you KNOW that I was not going to be ok with standing for the entire service.  We fortunately made it with a few spaces to spare, which turned out to be even more necessary than we thought.  It was H O T.  They didn't have the air on, it hit 80-something that day, and hundreds of people were packed into our little church.  I managed to not leave, but the pregnant woman a couple rows in front of me had to step out for a bit.

My sweet mother insisted that since we wouldn't be seeing any family, and this would be one of the last chances that we had to dress up and go out as just the two of us, that we go to an Easter brunch.  We ended up at the Radnor Hotel, and it was DELICIOUS.  Which of course meant that we ate entirely too much.  That did not stop us from hitting the dessert bar, though!

And, can you believe it?  I got Chris to take a picture.  Well, there may also be some of my back on the camera, but this one is pretty decent.  Even if I had to change dresses after church because I decided the other was too tight, and consequently, too short.  The wardrobe is very limited these days, folks!  Enjoy the whale watching known as 35 weeks:

There are more and more bets going around that I'm not making it to 40 weeks.  And...I honestly wouldn't mind.  We are ONE WEEK from full term, and then the Lion is welcome to make an appearance any time he wants.  I'm up to having a few contractions a day, but it's still the swelling that is killing me.  Just because I'm pregnant, Chris's opinion of air conditioning has not changed, so the 80-something temps this week has made life rafts of my feet.  I don't know if I can take it.  I understand that I'm usually all environmentally (and fiscally) conscious, but I may need some air conditioning in my life very soon.

Hope everyone's Easter was great!

Our version of Easter

I just ran across another blog, discussing their crazy Easter egg hunt, and I truly believe that no one can out-do ours... I regularly kick butt, and make upwards of $75. You have to understand, while some of these eggs hold candy or change, some hold up to $20. Unfortunately, at least one of the $20 is usually sunk at the bottom of the pool, and since I have to drive some ways afterwards, I don't usually go for THAT egg. Also, what is crazy, is that more than one of these participants is or was a college athlete. (Including myself. Water-polo. Real sport.) However, I am SUBSTANTIALLY smaller than everyone else. Not in weight (at least not anymore), but in height. Bobby's got about a foot and 1/2 on me. I'm the little one in the purple 1-strap tank. This was our "ghetto" year. We wrote all sorts of fun slogans on our bodies. Yes, mine says, "Two schools smarter." We're a little proud of our institutions of higher learning, can you tell? I hope it happens again this year. It hasn't since Jim and Sara moved away from NC and her parents. We need more 20-somethings running around like fools while I'm still a 20-something!!!

See some other people (also named Katie and Chris) who participate in such mature activities.
